Week 4 Mission
Our 4th mission has two parts. This week you need to:
1. Sit for a moment in Psalm 139:23+24. Ask the Lord to identify anything in your life that you need to be purified from, then, repent.
2. At least once in your conversations this week, take the step to mention the name of Jesus. See where that takes you!
Family Twist
Each mission comes with a family twist. If you have a family, this week you need to:
1. Read through Psalm 139 as a family. Talk through it and ask about ways each family member has seen God in their life. End your time by praying and asking God to reveal anything in your life that is not honoring to him and needs to change.
2. Challenge each family member to say the name of Jesus in one conversation this week. Be sure to check in and encourage each other!
Mission Tip
We often talk about the things that we love. To help say the name of Jesus in a conversation, take a moment and reflect on your relationship with Jesus. What are things you love about it? What questions do you have? These answers might lead to his name coming up in conversation naturally.
Week 3 Mission
Our 3rd mission has two parts. This week you need to:
1. Take a moment and consider how God has prepared you for his mission. In what ways do you feel inadequate?
2. Identify someone who might be a good partner or encourager for you in mission. Go have a conversation about it with them.
Family Twist
Each mission comes with a family twist. If you have a family, this week you need to:
1. As a family, consider how God has prepared you for his mission. Take a moment to encourage your kids and grandkids with the ways you see God has gifted them for this mission.
2. Parents, identify someone in your life who is a good encourager for yourself and your family into mission. Go have a conversation with them.
Week 2 Mission
Our 2nd mission has two parts. This week you need to:
1. Sit down personally, or in the context of home, and make a short list of ways that you live that are different from the culture around you.
2. Brainstorm a few ways you can be a practical blessing to someone in your life this week. Example: Giving flowers, baking cookies for your neighbors, taking a trash bag and picking up trash you are not responsible for, etc.
Family Twist
Each mission comes with a family twist. If you have a family, this week you need to:
1. Parents sit down with your kids and make a list together of ways that you live differently from the culture around you. You might want to talk through what it looks like for you to live out your walk with Jesus in your everyday life.
2. Brainstorm as a family a few ways you together, and individually, can be practical blessings to those in your life. Pick one and do it!
Mission Tip
Sometimes being a blessing can be as simple as handwriting a note or remembering a detail from an earlier interaction and following up!
Week 1 Mission
Our first mission has two parts. This week you need to:
1. Share with someone how you came to saving faith in Jesus (it can be someone you know!). Alternatively, if you don’t have a saving faith in Jesus, ask someone you know who does to share their story with you.
2. Take time this week to go to a place that has a lot of people. While remembering your salvation story, pray for the salvation of those surrounding you.
Family Twist
Each mission comes with a family twist. If you have a family, this week you need to:
1. Parents share with your kids how each of you came to saving faith in Jesus. Alternatively, if you don’t have a saving faith in Jesus, ask someone you know who does to share their story with your family.
2. Take your family to a place that has a lot of people. Keeping in mind your salvation stories, pray together for the salvation of those surrounding you.
Mission Tip
When praying in public, you can still pray out loud with your eyes open!
